Maayu Mali offers a 12-week residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults in Moree, NSW. Residents live on site and take part in a structured program that responds to their needs, strengths and goals.

- Cultural activities and connection with community and Country
- Life skills, shared living responsibilities and recreation

Counselling and case management
Counselling helps residents explore their alcohol and other drug use, strengthen coping strategies and work through matters affecting recovery and wellbeing. Each resident works with a case manager to identify goals and plan practical next steps. This may include help with health, housing, legal matters, family, Centrelink, education, employment and aftercare.
Culture, daily life and recreation
Culture shapes how Maayu Mali supports safety, belonging and healing. Activities may include site visits, weaving, art, yarns with Elders and cultural celebrations, depending on the program schedule and community opportunities.
Residents also take part in everyday routines such as chores, shopping, budgeting and shared meals. Recreation may include sport, art, craft, music, games and outings. Living alongside others helps build responsibility, communication and respect.
Planning for life after Maayu Mali
Aftercare planning begins early. Residents work with their case manager to prepare for the next stage, and Maayu Mali keeps in touch after completion.
